Mount Pleasant Election 2021: Incumbents Lead

MOUNT PLEASANT, NY — There were two contested races in the town of Mount Pleasant — which includes the villages of Pleasantville and Sleepy Hollow, a small part of Briarcliff Manor, and the hamlets of Hawthorne, Pocantico Hills, Thornwood and Valhalla.

In the town, longtime Town Supervisor Carl Fulgenzi was challenged by Joseph Bonanno. Town Board members Laurie Rogers-Smalley and Thomas A. Sialiano faced challenges from Democrats Evan H. Echenthal and Francesca Hagadus-McHale.

In addition, the local county legislator, Margaret Cunzio, was challenged for re-election by Democrat David Vinjamuri. District 3 includes Mount Pleasant, North Castle, Pleasantville and parts of Greenburgh, Briarcliff Manor, and Sleepy Hollow.

With 35 districts out of 42 reporting at midnight:

Town Supervisor

  • Joseph Bonanno: 2,768
  • Carl Fulgenzi: 3,748

Town Board

  • Laurie Rogers-Smalley: 3,771
  • Thomas Sialiano: 3,546
  • Evan H. Echenthal: 2,412
  • Francesca Hagadus-McHale: 2,681

With 45 districts out of 55 reporting at midnight:

County Legislator

  • David Vinjamuri: 3,883
  • Margaret Cunzio: 5,263
