Mount Pleasant Starts Fall Hydrant Flushing

Thornwood is included. Here are the details.

MOUNT PLEASANT, NY — Starting on Monday and continuing weeknights (except Friday) until Oct. 8, Mount Pleasant Water and Sewer Department staff will be conducting fire hydrant flushing operations in an effort to improve water quality and operational conditions of the Kensico Water District.

Flushing operations shall commence at 10PM and end at 2AM the following morning.

As water flushing can dislodge impurities within the distribution system, residents are advised to avoid using the water due to the normal reduced water quality and turbidity conditions of the water.
