NBC4 WeatherKids Tapes Segment at Todd Elementary
Storm Team 4 meteorologist Rafael Miranda Visits Briarcliff 5th Graders to talk storm preparedness
NBC 4 New York Meteorologist (and Westchester native!) Rafael Miranda visited Todd Elementary on May 30 in conjunction with the station’s “Weather Kids” program. More than 100 fifth-grade students learned about weather safety, toured NBC 4’s Storm Chaser weather vehicle and received certificates recognizing their completion of the course.
The most exciting part? The students participated in a live telecast yesterday at 11 a.m. Watch it here!
The "Weather Kids" program is designed to grow early interest in earth science and weather. Todd’s application, submitted by 5thgrade teacher Lori Fraternale, was one of more than 1,000 applications received by NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 in conjunction with the popular program.

In a note to staff and administration in advance of the visit Ms. Fraternale shared, “Our very own 5th graders will have the opportunity to learn all about the science of meteorology and even get to explore the storm chaser van. This is such an exciting event and I just wanted you all to be able to share in our 15 minutes of fame!”
Todd Principal Nadine McDermott added, "This morning's experience and live weather broadcast from Todd was an exceptional and exciting learning opportunity for our students!"
