New Settlement Appoints Pleasantville Resident to Board
He joins the Board of Directors of the nonprofit organization working to break systemic barriers and strengthen neighborhoods in the Bronx.

New Settlement, a nonprofit organization that aims to break systemic barriers, advance justice, promote leadership and strengthen neighborhoods in the Bronx, today announced the appointment of Bryan Fryer to its Board of Directors.
“We are excited to welcome a talented and accomplished leader to our Board of Directors,” said Rigaud Noel, executive director of New Settlement. “Bryan’s expertise in providing financial services customized to meet the needs of nonprofit organizations will be a strong asset to our organization as we work to expand our programs and further our mission to reach more members of the Bronx community.”

Mr. Fryer brings with him over 18 years of experience in public accounting and financial advisory. Over the course of his career, he has overseen all aspects of the accounting function, including payroll, account receivables and collections, disbursements, taxes, revenue recognition and reporting. His expertise also includes risk and reputation management, vendor management, data-driven management and KPI reporting, nonprofit attestation, internal controls, and budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
In his current position as a consulting principal at Grassi as part of the firm’s nonprofit practice, Mr. Fryer is responsible for advising nonprofit organizations, associations and foundations on improving their financial health, mitigating risk and achieving long-term sustainability. Prior to joining Grassi, he held leadership roles in both public and private accounting, including serving as partner at a regional public accounting firm and as controller for two high net worth multi-family offices and an international family-funded educational software company.

An active member of the community, Mr. Fryer was previously recognized by the Business Council of Westchester’s 40 under 40 award. In addition to serving as a new member ambassador for the Business Council of Westchester, Mr. Fryer regularly provides tax and advisory services to local nonprofit organizations. He also serves as a youth sports coach in his hometown of Pleasantville, NY.
Mr. Fryer holds a Master of Science degree in business from the Catholic University of America. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the New York State Society of CPAs.
