Briarcliff Manor Police Chief Norman Campion retires effective Dec. 31, according to the Briarcliff Daily Voice.
The decision effectively ends the disciplinary action which the village had begun against him in August. He was suspended in November.
Police Lt. Donald Gorey, who has been acting head of the department, will become provisional chief Jan. 1.
