"One Night with Fanny Brice" To Appear in Armonk
A musical reading is scheduled for Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 8 p.m. Admission is free.

"One Night with Fanny Brice” will be presented by The Armonk Players, a local theatrical group, in Armonk on Thursday, March 3, 2016.
The performance begins at 8 p.m. and admission is free. Christine DiTota will portray Fanny Brice in this musical reading written by Chip Deffaa. DiTota will be accompanied by Assaf Gleaner at the piano.
Brice was a comedienne, singer and Ziegfeld Follies star, and in the later part of her career, played Baby Snooks in a long-running radio show.

Barbara Streisand won an Academy Award for Best Actress playing Fanny Brice in the 1968 movie Funny Girl — based on a Broadway play that also starred Streisand. The film’s cast included Omar Sharif as troubled gambler Nicky Ornstein, a major influence on Brice’s life, and it was nominated for Best Picture.
“One Night with Fanny Brice” is directed by Pia Haas. Deffaa and Haas will participate in a discussion with the audience at a reception following the play along with the performers. Voluntary donations are accepted.

“One Night with Fanny Brice” will be staged in Whippoorwill Hall at the Armonk Library, 19 Whippoorwill Road East, Armonk NY 10504 (the entrance is on Kent Place).
