Ossining Woman Stole $251K from Pleasantville Employer

She used company credit cards for personal expenses such as food, travel and clothing.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY — An Ossining woman who stole from her employer for years has pleaded guilty to grand larceny. Erika Flores had control of the company credit cards and skimmed a quarter-million dollars from them over 10 years, Westchester County District Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced Wednesday.

Flores, 46, of 62 Ferris Place, pleaded guilty before Judge Larry Schwartz.

She was the accounting clerk for Prospero Equipment Corp. in Pleasantville for roughly 10 years and was responsible for accounts payable for the credit cards used by the company.

An investigation by the Mount Pleasant Police Department and Westchester County District Attorney’s Office revealed that she used the company credit cards for years without permission and falsified records to conceal her personal charges. Prosecutors said she stole about $251,437.58 by using two company credit cards for personal expenses such as food, travel and clothing.

Flores was arrested by the Mount Pleasant Police on June 30, 2016. She will be sentenced on Sept. 27, 2017.

She faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in state prison.

Assistant District Attorney Nicole Gamble of the Economics Crime Bureau is prosecuting the case.
