Pace's Rowland Named to Daktronics All-East Region First Team

The Pace University libero ended her collegiate volleyball career on a high note.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.- Senior Elyse Rowland (Antioch, CA/Deer Valley) has been named to the Daktronics Division II All-East Region First Team after another outstanding season for the Setters in 2012. She was a Daktronics East Region First Team selection in 2011 and finished the season as one of the top liberos in the East Region for a second straight season.

Rowland earned the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Libero of the Year for the second consecutive year in a row as well as First Team All-Conference.  Rowland led the Northeast-10 with 664 digs, which was nearly 100 more than the second-place finisher. Her 5.15 digs per set also was top in the league. She ranks 30th in Division II in digs per set. Rowland is the all-time leader in digs in the rally scoring era and ranks second in all-time digs with 2,158.

Rowland helped lead the Setters to a 10-5 mark in conference play, and was instrumental in their upset of third-seeded Franklin Pierce in the First Round of the NE-10 Championship. The Setters fell to the Panthers of Adelphi University 3-1 in the Semifinals of the NE-10 Championship.
