People's Caucus Nomination Process Starting in Briarcliff
The process leads to elections of Village of Briarcliff Manor officials and members of the People's Caucus Executive Committee.

From the People’s Caucus
On Wednesday, March 18, 2015, the Village election for the position of Briarcliff Manor Village Mayor will be chosen for a term of two (2) years. In addition, the position of two Trustees will be up for election, each for a term of two (2) years.
Any member of the Caucus may seek nomination for endorsement as the Caucus’ candidate in the March election for Village offices. Candidates receiving the Caucus’ endorsement will appear on the Caucus line on the March 18 election ballot. If an individual wishes to run without the Caucus’ endorsement, that is entirely his/her right under NY State Election law.

Each person who has been a primary resident of the Village of Briarcliff Manor, NY for thirty (30) days, is eligible to vote in a general election, and is a U.S. citizen is automatically a member of the Caucus, irrespective of any political party affiliation.
In addition to seeking nomination for Village office, any member of the Caucus may seek nomination and election to the Caucus’ Executive Committee. The elected officer positions are: Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary, each for a term of one (1) year.

Such elected officers plus an additional Member at Large appointed by the Chair shall constitute the Executive Committee.

Key Caucus & Village Election Dates:
- Tuesday, December 9, 2014, 8:00 PM: Informational meeting for any persons considering running for these positions - (Village Youth Center, 5 Van Lu Van Road, behind the Municipal Building). Interested persons are requested to please advise a member of the Executive Committee by Friday, December 5, 2014.
- Wednesday, January 14, 2015, 8:00 PM: People’s Caucus Nominating Meeting Meeting (Briarcliff Middle School Theatre). At this meeting the Caucus members will nominate candidates for Mayor and Village Trustee and for the Caucus’ Executive Committee.
- Thursday, January 22, 2015, 8:00 PM: The Peoples’s Caucus Meet the Candidates Meeting / Debate - (Briarcliff Middle School Theater). At this meeting, those persons nominated for local elected official office will participate in a debate/meet the candidates meeting, where the public will have the opportunity to ask questions.
- Wednesday, January 28, 2015 - Should any local elected position be contested, a voting meeting will follow on this date in the Village Youth Center. Voting hours are 3 PM – 9 PM or by proxy (absentee ballot).
The January 14th and 22nd meetings will be videotaped and shown on Cablevision’s local public access channel.
