PFM-Online is open for Preorders until 7pm Thursday

Pleasantville Farmers Market is open Saturday, 9:00am - 11:30pm

MARKET NEWS

This summer and fall we sent two weekly newsletters: Tuesday night (to highlight the 7:00pm opening of Pleasantville Farmers Market Online) and Thursday morning (with full Pleasantville Farmers Market Thursday information).

For this winter we'll shift all our efforts, and news, into a single newsletter sent out Tuesdays before 7:00pm. We've integrated the mailing lists from both newsletters into one. This way everyone will receive all our vendor highlights just in time to browse the online store and place preorders for the upcoming Saturday market.

While pleased our Winter market is now open, and gratified so many of you have taken to preordering to make this possible, we took notes on any issues affecting service last Saturday. The Market and its farmers and food artisans have worked quickly to implement updated protocols and systems so that your experience on 12/12 can build upon our observations and your input, making the Market better.

PFM-O OPEN
THRU THURSDAY, 7:00pm

Find out what's happening in Pleasantville-Briarcliff Manorfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

This newsletter reaches you at the midpoint of the weekly Pleasantville Farmers Market Online preorder shopping window (Tuesday, 7:00pm - Thursday, 7:00pm). So if you haven't placed your preorders yet, or if you see an item you wish to add to your existing order, you have until 7:00pm tomorrow night to do so.

If you have already set up preorders and wish to add to your order here are the simple steps to do that:

  • Browse the Product List as you have done before
  • Select products, adding them to your Shopping Cart. After you finish shopping click the Shopping Cart icon (located on the right side of the orange line).
  • Select Edit Order
  • Review shopping cart and resend confirmation.

You will receive a new confirmation in your email for your review.

PREORDER OR WALK UP?

Some shoppers have asked if one can arrive at the Market as a walk-up shopper without having preordered.

The answer is "yes", albeit with these caveats:

  • Growers with apples and greens have chosen to be preorder-only to protect their inventory (which would freeze if displayed). Whatever you preorder they will deliver.
  • Some items will be available for walk up purchases (ie: honey, jams, meats, baked goods) -- but knowing you'll get what you want is touch and go. Vendors are only required to offer their full options online in winter.
  • If you preorder it is easier for vendors as they know what to bring to market, guaranteeing you get what you're seeking.
  • Given the harsh conditions in winter the overriding goal is brevity of service (which preordering accomplishes). We're trying to help shoppers AND vendors get in and get out quickly on Saturdays. Therefore, walk up shoppers should be aware that preorder customers are served first as part of the goal to move as many shoppers through the marketplace within reduced hours.

And to make things convenient we've reduced the pickup fee applied to your order total to $2.00 all winter.

For all the reasons above we hope you will click this link and register to use Pleasantville Farmers Market Online (PFM-O) -- it is open until 7:00pm Thursday evening. Preorder from the comfort of your home now so you can easily dash in and out of the Market on cold mornings while getting the foods you love.
