The Pleasantville Boys’ Indoor Track team, which outscored the competition by over fifty points in capturing its first League title two weeks ago, took second place in Class B at the Westchester County Championship meet on Saturday, February 1. In a day of many individual personal bests, Patrick Watts won the 600 meter dash and anchored the 4x800 relay team (Eli Waxler, JC Yahia, Owen McAndrew, and Watts) to a fourth place finish with a season best time of 8:29. Overall, Pleasantville placed 11th of the more than forty schools that competed. In only its second year of existence, the team is ranked fifteenth in the state in Class B. Next up is the Section 1 Class B Championship on February 12. Coach Tom Patterson, who also led the Boys’ Cross Country team to its first section title since 1967, expects the team to be “in the hunt for a top five finish.”
