Pleasantville Community Block Party Changed to Rain Date

There's a chance of rain Saturday but it should dry out before Sunday afternoon in Pleasantville, the National Weather Service predicts.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY — The Pleasantville Community Block Party has been changed to its rain date of Sunday, village officials announced in an email update Thursday morning.

The event is sponsored by the Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce and Village of Pleasantville, building on the momentum from last year.

Admission is free, and the fun will include a car show, kids' games, live music, local vendors and food.

According to the National Weather Service, there's a 50 percent chance of rain Saturday, mainly after 8 a.m. The high will be near 59. Sunday, there's a 30 percent chance of showers before 2 p.m. The high will be in the low 60s.

The block party starts at 2 p.m.

In support of this event, the following road closures will take place:

  • Washington Avenue from Edgewood Avenue to Manville Road will be closed on Sun. from 12 to 6pm. Events on Washington Avenue will run from 2pm to 6pm.
  • Wheeler Avenue from Manville Road to Bedford Road will be closed on Sun. from 12 to 9pm. Events on Wheeler Avenue will run from 2pm to 9pm.
  • The Bedford Road Parking Lot will be closed on Sun. from 12 to 9pm. Events in the Bedford Road Parking Lot will run from 2pm to 9pm.

Only pedestrian access will be available in these areas.
