WEATHER NOTICES
DURING WINTER
We have great municipal support at Memorial Plaza to help clean up after snowstorms. This Saturday looks ok to run the Market after some potential Friday snow.
Find out what's happening in Pleasantville-Briarcliff Manorfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
If winter weather creates conditions making it necessary to close a Saturday market (ie ongoing, heavy snow) we always set a notice by 9am on Friday at pleasantvillefarmersmarket.org so you are aware. We also send out a brief newsletter with that information as well.
In the event of a closure, preorders are cancelled and credit cards are not charged.
OMICRON & SHOPPING SAFELY
Pleasantville Farmers Market remains committed to the health and safety of the whole community, including shoppers, vendors, volunteers, and staff.
As we contend with Omicron in the latest COVID-19 challenge:
- All vendors, volunteers and staff will wear masks.
- Unvaccinated shoppers are required to mask while shopping.
- It's recommended that ALL shoppers mask while at the Market (regardless of vaccination status, and including children ages 3+).
- All shoppers are requested to maintain physical distancing in the marketplace.
Avoid the Market if you're sick. Especially so if you exhibit any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus (temperature of 100° or above, a cough, a sore throat, shortness of breath). The New York State Department of Health has set up a hotline at (888) 364-3065 where Department of Health experts are available to answer questions regarding COVID-19.
PARKING OPTIONS
Click here for directions to the outdoor Market. Do you know the "hidden parking lots of Pville"? There are 8 parking lots within a few blocks of the Market, with over 400 parking spaces available - plus metered street parking throughout the Village. Review them all by clicking here to view a summary of parking lot locations.
Pango! The Village of Pleasantville has introduced a smartphone app as an option to pay for all metered and pay station parking in Pleasantville. Visit Pango to download the free Pango app for iPhone or Android devices, and follow the prompts to set up an account and method of payment. Parking meters have stickers (and QR codes) that indicate the parking zone—and parking lots have signs posted with zone numbers. There is a 16% service fee charged by Pango. The app will deliver a reminder message five minutes before time expires, and (in most locations) time can be extended via the app.

ANOTHER WAY TO GIVE: VOTE!
Last year the Market was among over a dozen Pleasantville businesses awarded the honor of “Best of Westchester” by voters in Westchester Magazine’s annual contest. As a community-based service, we’re proud of this feedback as an indication that we’re fulfilling our mission to our community, farms and food artisans.
Now the 2022 “Best of Westchester” first round voting is open. Please take a minute to VOTE TODAY for your favorite farmers market and all local, small businesses that have earned your loyalty.
TO BEGIN use this Best of Westchester link which takes you to the Reader's Ballot to place your vote for a favorite farmers market in two categories: Best Farmers Market (#34), and Best Produce (#62). Then explore the categories listing other great county-based businesses. Once you have voted, encourage fellow shoppers and family members to vote to help the contest garner more momentum. Thanks for participating!

Phelps Health Tip:
Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: "During the cold days of winter you should consider eating more carbohydrates like those from root vegetables – they help the body to sustain a little more weight, which is needed to insulate against the cold weather. Warming vegetables like potatoes, cabbages, carrots, onions, rutabagas, and winter squash all store well in cool, dark places, and can provide energy and comfort throughout the winter season".
