Pleasantville Alert: Frigid Temperatures Mean Potential For Frozen Water Meters And Water Pipes
See the latest announcement from the Village of Pleasantville.

February 3, 2023 - 8:05am
This is an important message from the Village of Pleasantville Department of Public Works regarding the high potential for frozen water pipes and water meters during the extreme cold temperatures forecasted for Friday and Saturday. We advise property owners to open an inside water faucet to allow a steady, thin stream (not drip) of water to run to prevent freezing of water in the pipes and water meter. Please check your water meter and water pipes located in areas exposed to wind, drafts or cold, and ensure they are properly insulated and heated to at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. Property owners are reminded that they are responsible for maintaining and protecting water service pipes and the water meter from damage. If your water meter freezes and needs replacement, fees will apply for the Water Department service call, removal of the damaged meter and installation of a new water meter. Thank you and stay warm.
