Pleasantville High School Students Selected to All-State Music Festival

Three PHS seniors were chosen to All-State choral groups - two to the Mixed Chorus and one as an alternate.

Pleasantville High School seniors Craig Cropsey and Carter Tanis were selected by the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) to perform in its All-State Mixed Chorus; classmate Katherine Stargiotti is a choral alternate. NYSSMA’s All-State Festival will be held in Rochester, New York from December 1-3.

Over 6500 student musicians throughout the state auditioned last spring for this year’s All-State Festival. Of those, 2400 achieved scores of 98-100 and were recommended for All-State consideration. The All-State Selection Committee then reviewed each nominee, selecting approximately 900 students for the eight All-State performing ensembles. While there are often more candidates with scores of 100 than can be accommodated by the limited size of the All-State groups, every student receiving a score of 100 is guaranteed alternate status.
