Pleasantville HS Open Friday for Students Mourning Senior's Death

The school will be open for 2 hours for students seeking counseling and support after Quentin Lupo's death.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY — Pleasantville High School is open Friday for students and staff who are mourning the death of senior Quentin Lupo. The basketball star died Wednesday in Greenburgh of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to news reports.

Pleasantville Union Free School District Superintendent Mary Fox-Alter sent an email out to the school community Thursday, the Daily Voice reported. The school will be open from noon to 2 p.m. Friday for students who want counseling and support.

A memorial page set up on Everipedia said Lupo's "classmates and family remember him as being a wonderful friend, great teammate, loving son and terrific brother."

Among many who took to Twitter to express their sorrow and condolences, Chris Ward Basketball, where he played, said "In a short period of time, he was loved by everyone."
