PLEASANTVILLE MUSIC FESTIVAL LAUNCHES KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN

2015 Pleasantville Music Festival announces today that it has added another “new” to its list: besides a new layout, new website, and new social media push, today marks a new crowd-funding campaign through Kickstarter.

The Kickstarter campaign is a fund raising effort made possible by independently organized volunteers for the express purpose of raising funds for the Pleasantville Music Festival. It gives loyal fans a way to get discount advance tickets and other festival-related premiums while helping increase the budget for attracting and booking musical talent.

According to organizers, launching a Kickstarter campaign during holiday season gives contributors a unique gift idea, along with the knowledge that they’re helping to build something special for the community.

In addition to helping fund a project, one of the side benefits of crowd-funding sites like Kickstarter is that contributors often feel an increased sense of engagement and act as ambassadors, spreading the word to help make the projects they believe in come to fruition. The organizers are hoping to capitalize on that sort of momentum, to generate both ticket sales and excitement now and all the way through the event on July 11.
