Pleasantville Proposes $57.7 Million Spending Plan For 2022-23
The budget hearing is Tuesday and candidates night is Wednesday.
PLEASANTVILLE, NY — Pleasantville district residents go to the polls May 17 to vote on a proposed $57.7 million budget, choose a school trustee and weigh in on two propositions.
The $57,712,488 spending plan, which would increase the tax levy by 1.72 percent, under the state's tax cap, will be the subject of a public hearing Tuesday.
Proposition B asks voters to let district officials establish a Capital Reserve Fund for future projects. Unexpended unassigned fund balances could be put in it, which would result in no tax impact to property owners.

Proposition C covers improvements at the middle school in the heating, cooling and ventilation systems. Funding would come from a $1.3 million federal grant; a $2 million loan to be paid back over 15 years; plus $2.61 million from the general fund.
There is one seat open on the Board of Elections as Shane McGaffey's term ends in June.
