Pleasantville Would Ban Marijuana Sales In The Village

The board has drafted a local law.

PLEASANTVILLE, NY — Pleasantville village officials will consider a Village Board Resolution and Local Law in response to proposed legislation at the state level to legalize the retail sale of marijuana.

According to the draft of the resolution, officials have learned that Pleasantville residents are very concerned about the retail sale of marijuana in the village. The board said the small scale of the village, particularly its business district, would make it impossible to locate marijuana retail sales stores away from children's walking routes and child focused facilities.

So, the law would prohibit the retail distribution, sale or offer for consumption anywhere in Pleasantville.
