Police Bust Former Bedford Resident, Seize Heroin

Michael Hall, 26, faces felony charges of third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a month-long investigation into narcotics in Lewisboro.

The investigation, a joint effort of the Lewisboro and Westchester County police, began In October when Lewisboro Police Officer David Alfano developed information about drug activity occurring in South Salem. A task force of officers from the Lewisboro Police Department and the county police Narcotics Unit was formed.

As a result of that investigation, Hall was taken into custody at 2:40 p.m. Friday along Route 35 in Lewisboro. At the time of his arrest, Hall was in possession of 130 glassine envelopes of heroin, police said.

The heroin sells on the street for $10 to $20 per bag.

Hall, a former Bedford resident, was booked at county police headquarters in Hawthorne and arraigned later in Lewisboro Town Court. Bail was set at $100,000 and he was sent to the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla.

“The county police Narcotics Unit continues to work with multiple police departments around northern Westchester to combat the distribution and sale of heroin in our communities,” said Commissioner George N. Longworth of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety in a press release.
