Police: Westchester Man, 33, Illegally Collected Thousands in Unemployment Benefits
Lopez's arrest is a result of a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Department of Labor and the New York State Police.

Osvaldo Lopez, 33, of Port Chester was arrested on felony grand larceny and related charges Thursday in connection with his alleged collection of more than $7,000 in unemployment benefits in 2012, according to state police.
Lopez is alleged to have created false business records stating he was unemployed between July and November of that year, when authorities say he was ”gainfully employed.”

On November 20, 2014, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation charged Osvaldo Lopez, 33 years old, of Port Chester, New York, with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st Degree, a Class E Felony.
The arrest is a result of a joint investigation conducted by the New York State Department of Labor and the New York State Police. It is alleged that Lopez unlawfully collected over $7,000 in unemployment benefits between July 2012 and November of 2012. Lopez created false business records by certified weekly that he was totally unemployed when in fact he was gainfully employed.
Lopez is scheduled to appear before the Village of Port Chester Court on December 1, 2014 at 9:00 a.m.
