Power Outages Follow Friday Thunderstorms

More than 2,000 customers in the lower Hudson Valley lost power when severe thunderstorms came through Friday evening.

Five people were struck by lightning in Poughkeepsie.

Con Ed reported about 400 customers out around Mamaroneck, New Rochelle and Pelham, with other outages scattered including Hastings-on-Hudson, Briarcliff Manor, Mount Kisco and Bedford.

O&R reported a double handful of customers out, mostly in Orange County.

Most of NYSEG's outages were north of the mid-Hudson, though there were scattered problems in Columbia, Dutchess, Putnam, Orange and Westchester counties.
