Fire Destroys Landmark Diner
Two firefighters were taken to Phelps with smoke/heat related issues. Route 9 is expected to be closed for some time.

BRIARCLIFF MANOR, NY — A local landmark, the Landmark Diner, went up in flames Thursday morning. The diner is on the Ossining/Briarcliff Manor border on South Highland Avenue.
Many firefighters joined Briarcliff, Scarborough and Ossining, at the scene or standing by, including Millwood, Pleasantville, Montrose, Yorktown, Valhalla.
Two firefighters were taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center with smoke and heat related issues, according to reports.

No one in the diner was injured, police said.
