Summer's here at the Market! You can find luscious cherries and raspberries, crisp garlic scapes and shelling peas, young shallots and red onions, carrots, beets, new potatoes, chard, head lettuces, and numerous herbs. The River Garden has gorgeous cut flowers now and this Saturday Simply Planted Greenhouses will make their final visit (until fall) with annuals for your home. Fresh chicken, duck, and seafood, and beef, lamb, and pork items are all available for your grill. With artisanal cheeses and breads, honey and jams, pickled items, fruit pies and tarts, the Market's farmers and food artisans are ready to help your summer get off to a delicious start!
This week visitors will also find a Market Sprouts kids event of fitness fun hosted by The Collective by JABFIT & NeverStopMoving (9:30-11:00), a Music Series performance of layered rhythms and percussion by Paul Mueller & Ray Mandel-Mueller (10:30-12:30) and our Community Tent Sponsor Patty Anker of Howard Hanna / Rand Realty, will table (10:30-12:00) with information about community events and the local housing market -- and at 11:00am Patty will lead a 1/2 mi Village Tour to our business district, schools, and some historic residential streets before returning to the Market at noon (info below on how to sign up).
METERED PARKING NOW AT MEMORIAL PLAZA

In April the Village of Pleasantville transitioned the Memorial Plaza parking lot to metered parking. The Village's Pango smartphone app and a new pay station are available for all metered streetside and Plaza lot parking. Here are the basic steps to using the payment kiosk:
- Have your license plate number when using the pay station.
- Select location as parking lot or on street.
- Dip your credit card to continue
- Add length of time for your visit to finish the process
- The pay station accepts credit cards, and cash (note: the machine does not dispense change).
- No paper receipt is necessary on your dashboard
- Download the free Pango app for iPhone or Android devices, and follow the prompts to set up an account and method of payment. There is a 16% service fee charged by Pango. The app will deliver a reminder message seven minutes before time expires.

VENDOR HIGHLIGHTS
Last week for summer plantings from Simply Planted Greenhouses! All items are "Buy one, Get one FREE" (of equal or lesser value): Drop-N-Grows, Hanging Baskets, 12" Cocoa Baskets, 12" Planters and much more.
Orchard Report: Mead Orchards has fresh broccolini, garlic scapes, scallions and lots of sweet red cherries. Wright's Farm notes they have both Queen Anne (blush) and sweet red cherries, red raspberries and they still have strawberries (as well as strawberry donuts).
With the start of summer, Edgwick Farm has the following seasonal pairings with their Canterbury soft goat cheese: a sweet pairing with blueberry compote layered under the fresh soft cheese; and a savory pairing with scape pesto (made with sunflower seeds) layered under their fresh soft goat cheese. Try a taste at their market table!
The River Garden is now shifting from early season dried floral craft items to mounds of fresh cut flowers. Get dried craft items this Saturday if you have gifting to do. These items will be paused during summer as River Garden focuses on their cut flowers.
Kriemhild Dairy Farms will be at the Market on Saturday with their full line of milks, butters, creme fraiche and other dairy products.
Kiernan Farm has a SALE on beef sirloin steaks at $19.50/lb, 1.25 to 1.5 lb avg size each (reg. $25.50/lb), and buy any 3 packages (mix or match) of their pork sausages (hot Italian, sweet Italian, breakfast) at $13.50/lb. get $5.00 off the total. Also, buy five 1lb packages of ground beef at $13.00/lb, you get $10.00 off the total.
Noble Pies is highlighting their savory Meatball Pie. Nine savory meatballs line the bottom of an all-butter crust, those are ladled with homemade tomato sauce, then comes a layer of fresh Jersey Girl mozzarella, and all is covered with a top crust. Yum!
In line with strawberry season, Teagevity offers their Strawberry Fields herbal iced tea, and the same flavor as a Teapopz!
Summer grilling season is underway and SOVA Farm has fresh USDA Organic, pastured chicken set for your menu. This week they're highlighting wonderfully fresh and convenient Spatchcock chickens. These lay flat on your grill, and cook in 1/2 the time (35-40 minutes) compared to a whole bird. SOVA also has other cuts as well including boneless/skinless breast, thighs, drumsticks and wings.
