Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: "Authentic artisanal cheeses aid digestion through the presence of enzymes and/or anti-viral MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides). They also contain less salt than processed cheeses, and none of the dyes, preservatives, stabilizers and other unnecessary ingredients found in more conventional cheese products."
SAY "CHEESE!"
The Market has three dairy farms (Chaseholm Farm Creamery, Edgwick Farm and Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse) which produce cheeses with ideal methods, and admirable care for their herds. (Our 4th dairy farm, Kriemhild, specializes in grassfed milk and butters and is in this week too). Also, Trotta Foods creates fresh mozzarella before the Market each Saturday. Eaten as is, or integrated into recipes, these are some of the best cheeses one can find.
Chaseholm Farm Creamery brings in small batch, soft ripened and longer aged raw milk cheeses. Try their Nimbus or Camembert, perfect in texture and flavor all the way through the center. Best served at room temperature and especially on still warm bread or toast. Pair with small dabs of sweet jam. Delicious!
Edgwick Farm creates fresh, soft goat cheese made from their own goats milk, and they also produce a number of aged cheeses such as Firthcliffe. Try their soft goat cheese plain, marinated, or packed with sweet and savory seasonal pairings - such as the popular Rosemary & Fig Canterbury which they have plenty of this week.
Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse reports that their Jean-Louis cheese is in now - try this cheese having a smooth texture and incredible flavor. They also suggest trying Drumm or Amran cheeses alongside your summer fruits, with some sliced Bobolink bread to complete the summer lunch!
Trotta Foods
Saturday Trotta Foods will have plenty of fresh mozzarella, smoked and regular. They'll also have burratta, and they occasionally have mozzarella rolls and some marinated mozzarella too.

DONT THROW IT OUT!
Starting on 8/27, all trash cans will highlight that shoppers can keep the Market clean and green by walking waste items to a NEW waste station near the Music area (next to Pickle Licious). This new program at the Pleasantville Farmers Market uses a similar approach to that seen at the Pleasantville Music Festival. At the Market's waste station, high school volunteers will assist shoppers in sorting items into three bins (compostable food scraps, recyclable items, and trash). The Village of Pleasantville supports this program by collecting sorted items at the end of each market day (the Village has an ongoing food scrap program for residents). Please participate in this effort so we can see it succeed!
SHARE YOUR IDEAS!
The Pleasantville Farmers Market values your input. Please take a moment to fill out our annual survey -- participants are eligible for a prize drawing of Market Bucks! We have displays with QR codes at our seating areas (in the Gazebo, and near the Music Series performance stage) so you can conveniently fill the Market's survey out on your phone. Make the Market better - share your input!
