Pleasantville Farmers Market: Saturday 8:30am - 1:00pm

SHARE YOUR IDEAS
WE’RE ALL EARS!

Farmers market shoppers know their input matters. Mesclun, specialty eggplants, arugula, heirloom tomatoes and many other items now commonplace at markets began as shopper suggestions to farmers at markets. The Pleasantville Farmers Market also values customer input. Please take a moment now and help make your market better by participating in our annual survey (participants are eligible for a prize drawing of Market Bucks and Market t-shirts!)

Phelps Health Tip
Herbs: Fun, Healthy, Delicious

Market Lead Sponsor, Phelps Memorial Hospital Center shares the following advice:

“Herbs are a great way to slide some antioxidants and phytochemicals into your diet. Add them to your salads, add dill to your fresh fish, mint to your cabbage, or basil to your tomatoes. Herbs make your menu more fun, more healthy, and more delicious!”

Need Help Carrying That?
July 25 places us into the optimal growing season for so many vegetables: summer squash, peas, greens, eggplants, peppers, and more. Loading up on produce can mean loading up on plastic bags. If you want fewer plastic bags in your kitchen and lifestyle, the Market has convenient, sturdy tote bags, made from 100% recycled plastic. And while they are pretty, they aren’t a pretty penny: one bag costs $3 and two cost $5. Stop by the Manager’s Tent and have one of our interns assist you.

Spice Revolution Notes Kriemhild’s Cremè Fraiche
Spice Revolution reports they’re introducing a new cookie this week: the Chocolate Chip Cremè Fraiche Cookie, made with Kriemhild Dairy Farms new Creme Fraiche. To celebrate they have ALL boxes of cookies 25% OFF ($5.25 from $7.00). Also, Spice Revolution is featuring a Rosemary Lemon Garlic Sea Salt made with local rosemary. Perfect for fish, chicken, vegetables or salads. Kriemhild Dairy Farms visits this week, right beside Spice Revolution. Rich in butterfat, Kriemhild’s new Creme Fraiche has the perfect balance of tang with hints of sweet cream -- making it perfect for sauces, soups and as a topping for desserts.

Tousey Winery Visits Saturday
Tousey Winery, in Clermont, New York, overlooking the picturesque Hudson River and Catskill Mountains, grows Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Noir grapes to create their unique, delicious, Hudson Valley wines. Stop by to taste their wines at the Market.
