Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following tip for a fruit and vegetable wash from author Suzy Scherr's book The Apple Cider Vinegar Companion: "Fill a clean sink halfway with lukewarm water and add 1 cup of apple cider vinegar. Add your fruit and/or vegetables and soak items for about 10 minutes (less time for fragile berries - 2-5 minutes is fine). Then rinse well".
VENDOR HIGHLIGHTS
Nina White, farmer and cheesemaker at Bobolink Dairy & Bakehouse, recommends enjoying blueberries with their cheeses such as Frolic and Schmearkase, along with an olive onion ciabatta. Perfect summer treat!
Kiernan Farm has a 25% off SALE on beef tender steaks at $18.50/lb (reg. $24.50/lb). Their pork chops are discounted to $13.50/lb (reg. $16.50/lb). get $5.00 off the total. Also, buy five 1lb packages of ground beef at $13.00/lb, you get $10.00 off the total.
Nirmala Gupta, of Bombay Chutney Company, highlights all their meals (Kofta, Saag, Rajma, Dal, and Chana Masala) are natural, vegan, vegetarian, and made without gluten. Just thaw to eat cold or hot.
Mead Orchards is now up to four tents, tables loaded with seasonal produce and fruit. This week they have added to their PFM-O store donut and white peaches, colorful bell peppers, and Sungold and red cherry tomatoes.
Woven Stars Farm has discounted their ground lamb. Save $2 off per pound when buying more than 1lb.
Wright's Farm is now in full on heirloom tomato mode - time to savor the season!
Conant Valley Jam will have this year's limited edition of Wild Raspberry Jam, which has a rich and pure flavor. Also, they'll have Plum & Pinot Jam, which makes a great sauce for any meat or poultry (and, of course, is great on your breakfast toast or yogurt).
Spice Revolution has two brand NEW and delicious sea salts, just in time for heirloom vegetable season. First is Ghost pepper sea salt (very spicy, adding a serious kick of heat and flavor), the second is Espresso sea salt (rich and earthy, adding depth to your dishes).
Both Fjord Vineyards and Cooper's Daughter Spirits are in this Saturday - each offering a terrific representation of what the Hudson Valley offers in fine wines and creative farm distillery items.
Did you run out of oats this morning? River Valley Community Grains is in again this week with their full line of heirloom grains, milled perfectly.
The ripeness of summer arrives at the Edgwick Farm tent with two new seasonal pairings with their fresh goat cheese. For the sweet pairing, a fresh apricot jam is layered under their honeyed soft goat cheese. For the savory one, a basil pesto (with pine nuts) is layered under their soft goat cheese. Edgwick Farm is offering a taste of each to try this Saturday.
Trotta Foods makes fresh pasta, for every market. This week try their Summer Squash Caramelle. These handmade "candy wraps" of basil pasta, are generously filled with a delicious mixture of green & yellow summer squash, red roasted peppers, and fresh ricotta and spices. Great with a simple sauce like Trotta's Filetto di Pomodorio

Metered Parking in Plaza lot:
The Village of Pleasantville's Memorial Plaza parking lot requires payment on Saturdays. The Village's Pango smartphone app and a new pay station are available to make payment for Plaza lot parking and metered street side spaces. Have your license plate number when making payment. For the most convenient way to pay, download the free Pango app today and follow the prompts to set up an account and method of payment. Masks:
Pleasantville Farmers Market remains committed to the health and safety of the whole community, including shoppers, vendors, volunteers, and staff. As such, unvaccinated shoppers are required to mask while shopping, and all visitors are welcome to mask out of an abundance of caution if preferred.
