Shopping List: Apples for Next Week's Phelps Apple Pie Contest!

The apple harvest is in full swing now, and so is planning for next week's Phelps Annual Apple Pie Contest.

Join in the fun! Adult home bakers, and Junior Chefs under 18, can pre-register for the Contest by emailing info@pleasantvillefarmersmarket.org. Pull out your best all-from-scratch recipe for an apple pie, or apple dessert, and Saturday shop the Pleasantville Farmers Market for apples, butter, spices and more. Mead Orchards and Wright's Farm will have numerous apple varieties to choose from for your pie. The Contest is held on Saturday, October 14 (rain date 10/21). The Westmoreland Nature Center visits to help children create their own working compass (9:30-11:00). Our Music Series performance is by indie rockers Tumbleweed Mile (10:00-12:00). And Pleasantville Recycles is visiting to highlight their initiative to reduce the use of plastic bags (8:30-12:30), AND their Spooktacular Halloween Costume Swap begins Saturday in the Memorial Plaza Gazebo (9:30-10:30).

Help Phelps Help Puerto Rico

Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health will visit the Pleasantville Farmers Market this Saturday (9:00am -12:30pm) to collect items for Puerto Rico and other Caribbean islands impacted by recent hurricanes. The Spice Of The Week Is Cinnamon!
