Some Market! With A Cherry On Top

Pleasantville Farmers Market is open Saturday, 8:30am - 1:00pm

We're proud to announce that the Pleasantville Farmers Market has been voted Best Of Westchester by the readers of Westchester Magazine for a fourth year in a row (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). We thank the 56 new and returning farmers and food artisans who bring healthful food to our community, and the thousands of people who come each week to support regional agriculture, patronize neighboring businesses, shop for their families, and enjoy the delicious good time. Whether you voted for us this year or not, we promise to continue to create an experience worthy of your support.

SUMMER IS AT THE MARKET

Summer is officially here, and the season is visible now in the items coming to market such as garlic scapes, sugar snap peas, summer squash, head lettuce, beets, spinach, rainbow chard, ripe cherries and our first tomatoes. Also arriving Saturday are two fun events: children get to participate in a planting workshop with Carolyn Ramsey of the Pleasantville Garden Club in the Kids area (9:30-11:00). And in our Music Series Doug Munro will play Gypsy swing from his release La Pompe Attack (10:00-12:00). IN THE COMMUNITY

Hillside Donation Day Success

Last week's Hillside Donation Day at the Pleasantville Farmers Market was a great community event - so many positive comments from so many people- and a great result in donated foods to address the on-going issue of food insecurity in Westchester County. 308 pounds of fresh produce, 52 loaves of bread, 30 pints of strawberries and several dozen eggs were collected from shoppers and vendors. All of this generosity, in volunteer effort and donated food, meant local residents in need had amazingly fresh food for this week. We thank our shoppers, farmers and representatives from the Pleasantville Community Garden and Hillside Food Outreach for helping this accomplishment to be achieved.
