This Week’s Phelps Health Tip: Eat Apples!
“The Iowa Wowen’s Health Study reports, among 34,000 women tracked for nearly 20 years, that apples are associated with lower risk of coronary heart disease and cardiovascular disease. Experts attribute these heart-healthy benefits to antioxidant compounds in apples, which help to prevent LDL cholesterol from oxidizing and inhibit inflammation. Plus, soluble fiber in apples has been shown to lower cholesterol levels as well.” To inspire apple consumption read a short summary of many apples at the Market by clicking here.
