VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
At the Market's Zero Waste Station volunteers help shoppers sort items into three bins (compostable food scraps, recyclable items, and trash). The station decreases the amount of trash produced by the Market - a long sought goal! This program was started by a Girl Scout for her gold award. Now it's our community’s job to keep it going, and we hope you will consider joining our volunteer team. Volunteers receive community service hours. Morning shifts are from 8:20-10:45am, and afternoon shifts take place 10:45-1:10pm. To begin volunteering please email Coordinator Jadyn Serebin at jadynserebin@icloud.com. Thanks!
VENDOR HIGHLIGHTS
Hodgin's Harvest will be offering warm samples of their Mushroom Risotto on Saturday -- showing how their kits make risotto easy! The kits are made with three different types of Certified Organic mushrooms grown at the farm and are packed with umami flavor. Just sauté the contents of the package in butter/oil, add white wine and water, then bake for 30-37 minutes. Avoid the labor-intensive traditional stir, stir and stir method, without sacrificing quality.
Orchard Report: Both our orchards have a variety of squash now, and they're picking fresh, fall apples. Wright's Farm has Gingergold, Gala, Honeycrisp, MacIntosh, and they are offering 2 quarts of Juicing Apples in PFM-O for $3.00 as well. Mead Orchardshas Blondee, Cortland, Crimson Crisp, Crimson Gold, Crimson Topaz, Idared, Empire, Gala, Gingergold, Honeycrisp, Jonagold, Macoun, McIntosh, and Zestar apples.
