State Police Say Drug-Impaired Driver was Carrying Heroin
He was arrested after investigation into an accident on the Taconic State Parkway in Mount Pleasant.
New York State Police arrested Remzi Alijaj, age 31, of Lagrange, NY, for felony driving while ability impaired by drugs, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.
Subsequent to an accident investigation on the Taconic Parkway Nov. 13 in Mount Pleasant, Alijaj was found to be driving while his ability was impaired by drugs and in possession of heroin.
Alijaj was charged with felony DWAI when a criminal history revealed that he was previously convicted of a driving while abililty impaired related offense within the last 10 years.
Alijaj is due in Town Court Dec. 4.
