Assassins lays bare the lives of nine individuals who assassinated or tried to assassinate the President of the United States, in a one-act historical “revusical” that explores the dark side of the American experience. From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald, writers Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman bend the rules of time and space, taking us on a nightmarish roller coaster ride in which assassins and would-be assassins from different historical periods meet, interact and inspire each other to harrowing acts in the name of the American Dream.

Arc Stages

Arc Stages is a new theatre arts center, a collaboration born of the 50-year legacy of the Chappaqua Drama Group (CDG) and the Pleasantville-based educational theatre company Little Village Playhouse (LVP). Together the two theatre companies have metamorphosed into a new and vital professional quality company, whose overall objective is to bring different types of theatre and arts education to the surrounding communities. As the parent company, Arc Stages encompasses three different theatre groups: The Community Stage, The Educational Stage (Little Village Playhouse) and, The Next Stage. Each offers artistic excellence in its specific genre.

The Educational Stage (Little Village Playhouse) is where students of all ages (youth and adult) can gain self-esteem while exploring the world of theatre though a professional rehearsal process, master classes, outreach and intensive ensemble work.

The Community Stage offers the best in contemporary and classic musicals and dramas. From Rodgers and Hammerstein to Sondheim. From Shakespeare to Shepard. The Community Stage continues the efforts of the original beloved Chappaqua Drama Group.

The Next Stage is a professional theatre that will indulge audiences looking for more avant-garde, edgy material as well as new works, cabaret, workshops, and readings.
