“Best of Westchester” 1st round voting CLOSES tomorrow. If you haven't taken a moment to VOTE for your favorite farmers market and other local, small businesses that have earned your loyalty - please do so tonight.

Our farmers and food artisans are incredibly dedicated to their role in providing healthful food for our community. Our customers dependably shop for their families each week. Pleasantville's municipal leaders, the Pleasantville Chamber of Commerce and our Sponsors all provide key support. Our staff and volunteers provide untold hours to ensure this complex event succeeds in appearing simple each week. To give you the BEST, every week, year-round, the Market also provides:

  • inspections of every producer
  • careful criteria for vendor selection
  • the safest Covid protocols we know of
  • and Pleasantville Farmers Market Online - the only weekly, full market, one-click-to-pay preorder system in the region.

Last year the Market was among Pleasantville businesses awarded the honor of “Best of Westchester” by voters in Westchester Magazine’s annual contest. As a community-based service, we’re proud of this feedback as an indication that we’re fulfilling our mission to our community, farms and food artisans.

PFM-O: BRISK SERVICE FOR COLD WEATHER

Saturday's weather will be chilly so preorder to get in and out quickly! Pleasantville Farmers Market Online (PFM-O) is designed to ease winter shopping outdoors - whatever the conditions. Benefits include:

  • Get what you want! Don’t worry about items selling out.
  • Quick and easy pickup. No standing on long lines!
  • Pay in advance with one click, no matter how many vendors you preorder from.
  • Prices are the same online as in the Market.

OMICRON & SHOPPING SAFELY

Pleasantville Farmers Market remains committed to the health and safety of the whole community, including shoppers, vendors, volunteers, and staff.

As we contend with Omicron in the latest COVID-19 challenge:

  • All vendors, volunteers and staff will wear masks.
  • Unvaccinated shoppers are required to mask while shopping.
  • It's recommended that ALL shoppers mask while at the Market (regardless of vaccination status, and including children ages 3+).
  • All shoppers are requested to maintain physical distancing in the marketplace.

Avoid the Market if you're sick. Especially so if you exhibit any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus (temperature of 100° or above, a cough, a sore throat, shortness of breath). The New York State Department of Health has set up a hotline at (888) 364-3065 where Department of Health experts are available to answer questions regarding COVID-19.

PARKING OPTIONS

Click here for directions to the outdoor Market. Do you know the "hidden parking lots of Pville"? There are 8 parking lots within a few blocks of the Market, with over 400 parking spaces available - plus metered street parking throughout the Village. Review them all by clicking here to view a summary of parking lot locations.

Pango! The Village of Pleasantville has introduced a smartphone app as an option to pay for all metered and pay station parking in Pleasantville. Visit Pango to download the free Pango app for iPhone or Android devices, and follow the prompts to set up an account and method of payment. Parking meters have stickers (and QR codes) that indicate the parking zone—and parking lots have signs posted with zone numbers. There is a 16% service fee charged by Pango. The app will deliver a reminder message five minutes before time expires, and (in most locations) time can be extended via the app.

Phelps Health Tip:
Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: "Authentic artisanal cheeses aid digestion through the presence of enzymes and/or anti-viral MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides). They also contain less salt than processed cheeses, and none of the dyes, preservatives, stabilizers and other unnecessary ingredients found in more conventional cheese products". Market note on our cheese producers: Bobolink Dairy and Edgwick Farm are in this Saturday, Chaseholm Farm Creamery returns next on 2/5.

VENDOR HIGHLIGHTS

The cold weather means Maple View Farm and Mead Orchards will not have products set out for walk up shopping -- so preorder to obtain what you want!

Gajeski Produce is back and will have some hearty veggies for walk up but when it's 14 degrees preorders work well for tender greens and Gajeski's staff. Check out PFM-O store to browse their wide selection of vegetables.

Bombay Chutney Company will visit with their frozen meals items, excellent simmer sauces and versatile chutneys. Add some flavor to your winter meals with Bombay's help. Help them by preordering!

Merchant's Daughter Ciderworks is Hudson Valley based, and uses only regionally sourced apples to create a premium cider taste experience - try some to forget your winter blues. Preorder tonight to pick up quickly on Saturday, or stop by their tent to learn more. Choices are Dry, Semi Dry and Clara Reserve.

Edgwick Farm is back at the Market after time away to kid baby goats. Fresh goat milk, goat-gurt, ri(goat)ta and fresh soft goat cheeses are all back in production with the milk flowing again.

Dancing Spirits Herbs will make their January visit with a creative line of vinegars, useful salves and a soothing lip balm (in a new improved container).

Spice Revolution's theme is hot & spicy, featuring Urfa Biber, Aleppo, chili powder medium, magnificent mole, hot Indian curry, gochugaru and more.

Manor Sangria will be in with their hand crafted, fresh sangrias.

Conant Valley Jams has made their third marmalade of the winter, Blood Orange & Key Lime. It is wonderful over a cheese as an hors d'oeuvre or as an ingredient in braised chile-marmalade duck (or chicken) legs. Recipe available is available at their stand at the Market.

Kiernan Farm has discounted beef stew cubes $13.50/lb (reg. $15.50/lb), and Pork Country Style Ribs (two in a pack) to $13.00/lb (reg. $15.00/lb). Also, buy five 1lb packages at $13.00/lb, get $10.00 off the total.

Catch them while they're in this Saturday! We've some vendors that are only Rotation Vendors in the winter. Look through PFM-O to browse and preorder this week from Dutch Desserts, Forward Roots, Rock City Mushrooms and Trotta Foods.
