Students Across Briarcliff Schools Mount Toy Drive

Students in all three schools worked to collect toys for the Ossining Children's Center

Todd Elementary School fourth-grade students and Briarcliff High School American Red Cross Club members recently partnered to collect toys for the Ossining Children’s Center.

“We have some members who volunteer at the Ossining Children’s Center who suggested that our toy drive benefit them, as they are constantly in need of new toys for their students,” said ARCC advisor Karen McCarthy.

Similarly, a number of Todd fourth-graders approached Principal Nadine McDermott about collecting toys and teamed up with ARCC members by creating posters to let their peers know about the effort. Briarcliff Middle School’s student government also aided in the effort, collecting toys in the building. In total, the drive yielded 100 toys for the Ossining Children’s Center.

“The districtwide initiative started out as a small seed and blossomed into a beautiful giving tree that benefits a very worthy neighboring organization,” said McCarthy.
