Sullivan, Wilson, Zirman Seek Nod from People's Caucus in Briarcliff Village Election
Mayor William Vescio will not run for re-election.
The mayor’s seat and two trustee positions are up for election this year in Briarcliff Manor.
The People’s Caucus, from which successful candidates for village office traditionally come, has scheduled its nominating meeting for Jan. 14, the candidate forum for Jan. 22 and its vote (should it be needed) for Jan. 28.
Caucus officials said three people so far have indicated their desire to be on the Caucus slate in the spring election:

- Village Trustee Lori Sullivan is running for mayor
- Village Trustee Mark Wilson is seeking re-election
- Village resident Bryan Zirman is seeking the seat on the Board of Trustees being vacated by Sullivan

The Caucus’ Annual Nominating Meeting will be held in the Briarcliff Middle School Theater on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 8 PM. At this meeting the Caucus members will nominate candidates (which may include themselves) for Mayor and two Trustee positions, and the Caucus’ Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee has been informed by incumbent Mayor, William J. Vescio that he has decided not seek re-election for a sixth term as Mayor. We sincerely thank Mayor Vescio for his twenty-nine years of dedicated service to the Village, as a member of the Board of Trustees for the past eleven years, (the last ten as Mayor) as well as two years on the Zoning Board of Appeals and sixteen years as a member of the Planning Board (six as Chair). We all wish Mayor Vescio the best of luck in all his future endeavors.
The Executive Committee of the People’s Caucus of Briarcliff Manor is pleased to announce that the following residents of the Village have indicated their intention to seek the Caucus’ Nomination for Village offices:
Village Mayor – Lori A. Sullivan, 26 Jackson Road
Village Trustee – Mark J. Wilson, 27 Law Road
Village Trustee – Bryan Zirman, 174 Pine Road
On Thursday, January 22, 2015 those persons nominated for local elected office will participate in a debate/meet the candidates meeting, where the public will have the opportunity to ask them questions. This meeting will be held in the Middle School Theater at 8 PM.
Should any local elected position be contested, a voting meeting will be held on January 28, 2015 in the Village Youth Center. Voting hours are 3 PM – 9 PM or by proxy.
