Summer Is At Peak
Case in point: Sweet or hot; huge or petite; frying or bell; purple, orange, yellow, or red -- peppers are everywhere at the Market.

If you’re in town this weekend stop by the Pleasantville Farmers Market. Marvel at the diversity of foods present from our regional farms at this high water mark of the summer harvest. With berries, peaches and apples; with melons, corn, peppers, eggplants, new potatoes, squash and tomatoes; with cut flowers, preserves, meats, cheeses, wines, breads and baked goods; with so many healthy, fresh, beautiful foods - the Market is as good a celebration of regional agriculture as you’re likely to find. While shopping the Market please seek out the growers and food artisans around you and give them a compliment or a pat on the back. By now they’ve been working at full tilt for many months. All the foods we appreciate so much in the Market are due to their talent and dedication.

This week’s Phelps Health Tip:
Daily Dose of Delicious Fruits & Veggies
“The USDA recommends two and a half cups of non-starchy vegetables and two cups of fruit per day.”
Good for us that the Market has many types of beautiful peppers, tomatoes, apples, pears, and peaches this week.
