Sweet Summer

Pleasantville Farmers Market is open Saturday, 8:30am - 1:00pm

Our season is at a crossroads at the Pleasantville Farmers Market. Treats like strawberries and blueberries are still available. And a summer's worth of sun has brought us peaches, melons and sweet corn. But the first glimpse of fall is arriving in early varieties of apples (Honeycrisp, Ginger Gold and more). Nevertheless, summer remains the star of the show this week with summer crops like eggplant peaking. Try to fit in some slow meals between preparing children for school and unpacking from recent trips. The meals you make now can provide tasty memories when you look back later this fall.

This Saturday the Pleasantville Farmers Market Music Series will present singer-songwriter Sarah Browne (10:00am - 12:00pm). And Chef Terry Burrus, of the local restaurant Lucille's, will visit with a chef demo of her Summer Ratatouille (8:30am - 12:30pm). Unfortunately, Camp Nabby was unable to be present for their scheduled Kids event. Kids programming will resume next Saturday September 2.
