Taconic Crash Seriously Injures One

Police say the man appears to have been speeding.

MOUNT PLEASANT, NY — State police report a serious one-car collision on the Taconic State Parkway Jan. 4.

State troopers patrolling the Taconic observed the State Park Police dealing with a one-car collision in the area of mile post marker 4.7 northbound on the parkway.

The operator of the vehicle, 25-year-old Frantz Estimar of Cortlandt Manor, was trapped inside.

Hawthorne Fire Department and EMS extricated Estimar and transported him to Westchester Medical Center with serious injuries, police said.

An investigation indicated that Estimar was traveling at a high rate of speed, exited the roadway for an unknown reason, and struck a tree in the center median.

Police did not say at what time the crash occurred.

The State Police were assisted by the New York State Park Police.
