Taconic Wrong-way Driver Arrested in Mount Pleasant
The Peekskill man was headed south on the parkway's northbound side early Monday.

New York State Police arrested Devon R. Beaufort of Peekskill, New York, for Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, following the report of a wrong-way driver traveling on the Taconic State Parkway early Monday morning.
Troopers were searching for the wrong-way vehicle and located it traveling southbound in the northbound lanes in the area of mile post marker 5.5.
Troopers stopped the offending vehicle at about 3:30 a.m., which was operated by Beaufort, without incident. They concluded that he was intoxicated at the time of the traffic stop.
Beaufort was issued traffic tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Mount Pleasant Court on May 5.
