Take a peek at Briarcliff Manor Garden Club's Tour of Martha Stewart's Farm!
A June Garden Tour of Cantitoe Corners; Martha Stewart's Farm in Katonah.
The Briarcliff Manor Garden Club was honored to revisit Martha Stewart's Cantitoe Corners for a Garden Tour, this week. The gardens are in the expert care of Ryan McCallister, who lead the tour, throughout some of the 153-acre farm. Purchased 15 years ago, from the estate of Ruth Sharp, Cantitoe Corners has been restored and developed into bucolic splendor. The "village assemblage" consists of several houses, a stone staple that house Friesian horses and also some ponies, the Donkey House with Sicilian donkeys, chicken coops, five glass greenhouses and the Peacock House. The formal Boxwood Parterre Garden and ginkgo trees, the Flower Garden filled with perennial flowers, the New Linden Allee, the Peony Garden and the Fruit Orchards were highlights. At the tour's end, a beautiful and most generous array of homemade cookies and a refreshing pomegranate punch was set out for us. The grand finale: Martha's champion Chow, GK and three Chow puppies greeted us with enthusiastic licks. BMGC send warm appreciation to Martha Stewart and our friends at Cantitoe Corners for a most memorable garden tour.
