Ten Tips To Being Successful
One benefit achieved through the Martial Arts is attaining personal power and the mindset to accomplish your goals. This power is infinite and will lead to success and happiness with your life.

What does it mean to be a success and is this important?
Success has different meanings to different people and many people equate success with money. Is wealth more important than happiness, especially if you are over worked, harried, over weight, out of shape, and irritable?
Not for me. I believe finding and having a Worthy Ideal is a key to being successful. A Worthy Ideal is the deep passion we have that drives our actions, it consumes us, it is why we wake up in the morning, why we take on challenges...it is our sense of purpose...our meaning for life. It is the driving force in all that we do...to be successful in life...personally, professionally, spiritually, and mentally.
How can you optimize the chances of being a successful...student, parent, person?
- Learn to be a leader, follower, and team player. Not everyone can be a leader all the time. If everyone was a general, who would fight the battles? To get a job done, it’s usually best to work as a team. And within that team, you may have the opportunity to be a leader and a follower, and certainly a team player.
- Have a positive mindset; tackling challenges, pursuing opportunities, managing risk, demonstrating self-confidence, and having vision, are keys to success.
- Execute, get it done, or as Nike put it, “Just Do It”.
- Passion - your reason for being, your Worthy Ideal.
- Create and maintain value to yourself, your family, job, and community.
- Find like-minded people who share your values.
- Focus. Don’t chase every interesting idea. Be prepared to say “No” or “Not yet”.
- Be service oriented, to your family, friends, work, and charity. Doing what is right and good will make you feel great about yourself and community.
- Don’t settle for “Good enough”.
- Be active and healthy. Eat nutritious foods, hydrate, and stay active; do everything in your power to take care of your body...it’s the only one you get.
