Thanks Summer

Pleasantville Farmers Market is open every Saturday 8:30am - 1:00pm

SUMMER, THANKS FOR PROVIDING A GREAT FALL
At the heart of our soon-to-arrive fall harvest is of course a successful summer. Fall fruit and vegetables depend upon a long sunny season of healthy soil, dedicated farmers and some luck with the weather. With summer to thank, toast the outgoing season with a glass of regional wine. Enjoy some summer-ripened sweet corn and watermelon. Fire up the grill, invite some friends over, and truly savor this last sunny weekend of summer meals. Next week, fall arrives.

This Week’s Phelps Health Tip:
Markets Offer Sustainable Options
“The demand for healthier foods is greater than ever. What are people looking to eat in 2015? Research shows that 36% of food choices are driven by sustainability – this means more organic foods, fewer pesticides, conservation of water and limiting of fossil fuels. Shoppers can easily support these goals at farmers markets by seeking out eco-friendly packaging, grass-fed meats, sustainable seafood and cutting down on their own food waste.”
