Thanksgiving Wine: The One Bottle You'll Want

Between cooking the turkey, making the sweet potatoes and baking the pumpkin pie, finding the right wine can feel like an undertaking all its own. To help narrow down the selection, we asked a local wine shop for their one suggestion. 

Mike Goldstein from in Pleasantville, which has been in the neighborhood for 94 years, recommends the Chateau Blaignan 2009 from Medoc, France.

He describes the wine—priced at $16.99 per bottle—as having some “elegance” and says that "it’s quite an interesting wine that drinks well now.”

Why is it great for next week’s feast? “Because red Bordeaux goes very well with turkey,” Goldstein says. “It’s an ideal match with turkey.”
