Use Your Voice Effectively
Teacher's teacher Sarah Bell presents her Speaking of Yoga methodology to help you liberate your voice
This workshop about connecting the voice to the body will help you discover habits you have created that may be obstacles in your everyday communication. Sarah Bell has developed her Speaking of Yoga methodology to help yoga instructors and others liberate their voices, allowing them to say what they mean effectively. Bell says, “Especially if you use your voice professionally (yoga teachers, fitness trainers, singers, speakers, business people), you will find that a new awareness in the way you feel your voice will bring you greater control and freedom in the way you communicate.” The 3-hour workshop will include asana, reading aloud, and learning tools to keep the voice as healthy as the rest of the body.
This is the second of ten workshops in the 2015–2016 series hosted by Yoga Teachers Association (YTA) and will be held on Saturday, October 10, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Yoga Studio at Club Fit in Briarcliff Manor. Workshops are open to members and nonmembers. $35 members/$45 nonmembers in advance; $45/$55 at the door. Advance registration at YTAYoga.com is requested. CEUs are available.
Additional workshops in the YTA’s 2015–2016 series include “The Principles of Backbending,” led by Freddie Wyndham and Darcy Bowman, on December 12, “Exploring the Buddha Body” with Michael Hayes on January 9, and Susan Lip Orem’s “Hips, Hips, Hips, or Does This Pose Make Me Look Fat?” on February 13.
