Village Of Pleasantville: Message From The Pleasantville Police Department - Schools Open September 2nd - Drive Carefully

With the opening of the 2021-2022 school year this Thursday, September 2nd, 2021, the Pleasantville Police Department would like to remind everyone to be extra careful when driving on Village streets as students end their summer vacations and return to school.

Drivers should be extra cautious in school areas, remaining alert and keeping their speeds at or below posted speed limits, especially in school speed zones. Drivers should also be prepared to stop, on both sides of the street, for school buses with flashing red lights as required by New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws. Drivers should be extra alert and cautious as there will also be students walking and riding their bicycles to and from school.
