1. Holiday schedule for Recycling Center & special one-day pick-up: Due to Christmas and New Year’s Day falling on a Saturday, the Recycling Center will be closed on 12/25/22 and 1/1/22. Anyone needing to drop off material can do so on Thursday, 12/23/21 and Thursday, 12/30/21 between the hours of 8am and 3pm. Please also note that the date for this year’s ‘special one-day pick-up’ for cardboard and paper will be Wednesday, 12/29/21.
2. The second installment of Village property taxes is due on or before Monday, January 3, 2022: Village tax payments can be made in person at Village Hall Monday through Friday, from 8am to 4pm (office will be closed Friday, December 24th and Friday, December 31st); online via the Village website www.pleasantville-ny.gov; sent via mail service; or, left in the drop box available at the entrance to the Village Police Department on Bedford Road.  A clear and legible USPS postmarked date on or before January 3, 2022 is acceptable for payments that are mailed to Village Hall.  Payments can also be made online without penalty until 11:59pm on January 3, 2022. 
3. Winter parking regulations: Reminder that winter parking regulations went into effect on December 1. No vehicle shall be parked for a period longer than ½ hour on any street or highway in the Village between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. from December 1, 2021 through April 1,2022.
4. Work to South End of Memorial Plaza: Work on the south end of Memorial Plaza between Bedford Road and the gazebo is ongoing. The stairs to the gazebo will soon be relocated so that it aligns with the eventual crosswalk, new Bee-Line bus stop and pedestrian walkway that will link Cooley Street and Memorial Plaza. 5. Changes to parking regulations in the Memorial Plaza Lot: On November 9, 2021, the Village Board of Trustees passed a Local Law that will enable a hybrid parking model for the Memorial Plaza lot. These changes will not take effect for approximately another month, and public outreach will be done before implementation. Memorial Plaza has been restricted to permit holders only from 6am to 3pm, Monday through Friday. The new model would continue to restrict parking in the lot to permit holders only on weekdays from 6am-10am, and enable paid parking for those without permits from 10am to 6 pm. Payment would be required for all non-permit holders on Saturdays from 8am to 6pm.  New pay stations will be located in the lot, and people will have the ability to pay by phone via the Pango mobile app. Given that the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted commuter parking demand, this proposal would diversify the use of the parking lot.
6. Manville Road Pedestrian Safety Project –The project to improve pedestrian safety on Manville road from Memorial Plaza to Tompkins Avenue has proceeded through NYSDOT’s review process and is currently out to bid. The project is estimated to cost $3-$4 million, of which $1.6 million would be reimbursed to the Village through a federal grant. A bond resolution that authorizes the bond cost of $4 million was passed by the Village Board, with the bid-opening scheduled for mid-January 2022 before a final determination whether to proceed with the project is made.
7. Pool Update: The Village has engaged with a consultant, Rimkunas Engineering (www.rimkunasengineering.com) to proceed with the development of construction documents and permitting with the Westchester Co. Department of Health. The design of the pool was based on feedback from the community through the pool task force, public forums and a comprehensive survey. The initial project schedule is to start construction in the Fall of 2022.  
8. Recycling Mobile App Coming Soon: The Village of Pleasantville and Sustainable Westchester will be launching a mobile app, Recycle Right Westchester, to make it even easier for residents to stay connected about waste and recycling collection programs. In the mobile app, you’ll find the garbage, recycling, and special pickup collection schedule specific to your house address.  The mobile app can also remind you of your collection day, so you’ll never forget again! The app is expected to launch in early January 2022 with more information coming soon.
9. Development Update: 

• 70 Memorial Plaza – The three level underground garage completed; installation of the hvac, fire sprinkler, plumbing and storm water systems continue within the garage areas. Steel framing is in full operation with the exterior and interior stud framing along with window installation, which is estimated to be completed in approximately 4-6 months - weather dependent.
• 52 Depew Street – Lower level garage area platform complete with the entire wood framing of the upper levels near completion.
• 98 Washington Avenue – This building will have 14 affordable units and is about 90% completed.
