“After the temptation to wear shorts and shed winter coats on Thursday, people in the Northeast will soon again be shivering,” said AccuWeather.com Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams. “Temperatures have gyrated like a roller coaster during much of the month and the ride is nowhere near being over.”

The roller coaster in Pleasantville and Briarcliff means a temperature swing from a high of 57 on Thursday to a low of 27 on Saturday, the National Weather Service predicts. And there’s a chance of snow Friday and Saturday.

- Thursday-Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 3pm. Areas of fog before 3pm. High near 57. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
