This Week: Indoors! Next Week: Outdoors!
Pleasantville Farmers Market is open Saturday, 8:30am – 1:00pm

What A Fine School District It Is
April 6 will be our first outdoor market of the 2019. This Saturday marks the end of the indoor season. We thank the Pleasantville Union Free School District Board of Education and administration for their generosity, hospitality, and community spirit. It cannot be overstated how much the farmers and area residents appreciate the cozy Middle School and its dedicated support staff each winter.

As much as great foods make the Market, so do great relationships. Market shoppers know that our roster of farmers and food artisans is one of the best. We really appreciate our vendors for the positive and diligent service they've provided our community all winter. Saturday we will especially note our appreciation for Cowberry Crossing Farm as they're retiring and making their final visit to Pleasantville Farmers Market (more info below).

Phelps Health Tip
Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: "The benefits of antioxidants show up everywhere, but the synergy that occurs between the vitamins, minerals, fiber, phytochemicals, and antioxidants when we eat whole plant foods may reduce the risk of some serious chronic conditions and cancers. Eat more whole plant foods and do it more frequently!"
Visiting Organization Saturday:
13 Hands Equine Rescue
13 Hands Equine Rescue is a Not for Profit 501c3 Animal Rescue that specializes in the rescue of unwanted, abused and slaughter bound horses. After being approved by a licensed veterinarian, rescued horses are sent to the 13 Hands facility and with the help of volunteers, they begin their journey to become the horse they were meant to be -- used in therapy or adopted into loving homes.
Arrive without a bag?
At the Managers Table there's a "Bag Exchange" bin where shoppers donate clean, reusable bags they're no longer using, so other shoppers can pick one up for FREE. Our Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health, made our first donation to the Bag Exchange with a large amount of their reusable shopping bags. The Market also has convenient, sturdy shopping bags, made from 100% recycled plastic, available for sale each week.
LAST VISIT: Cowberry Crossing Farm
This Saturday Pleasantville Farmers Market is especially expressing appreciation for Cowberry Crossing Farm. Richard and Cecile Harrison, moved to Claverack, NY in 2003. Community, living in harmony with nature, and a place to farm were the couple’s top priorities. We've watched their children, Reese and Grace, grow up at the Market and as a family they've nourished our community with their incredible food and warm company. The Harrisons are beginning a new phase, which will have them retire from commercial farming. This Saturday join us in wishing them well while stocking up on their meats and vegetables.
