Weekend Best Bets: Family Fun and Movie Night is Saturday

Brought to you by the Pleasantville PBA and Pleasantville STRONG, which just won a big grant to continue anti-drug work with village youth.

From 5:30-9:30 p.m. Sept. 12, on Parkway Field, it’s Family Fun and Movie Night, brought to you by the Pleasantville Police Benevolent Association and Pleasantville STRONG.

“The weather report for Saturday is for sun and fun! Please join us...” Pleasantville STRONG wrote on its Facebook page.

Pleasantville STRONG was awarded a multi-year federal Drug Free Coalition grant ($125,000 a year for 5 years) that will be used to fund drug prevention activities for Pleasantville youth.

The organization’s mission is to reduce youth drinking and drug use in the community.

It was founded by Pleasantville resident John Mueller as an outcome of Pleasantville Schools 2026, the District’s five-year strategic plan, and is a joint undertaking of the Pleasantville School District, the Pleasantville Village Board, and the community, said school district spokeswoman Julie Schwartz.
